Where is Haleigh? Questions Remain.

New Information Turns Cummings' Investigation Upside Down
By Audrey Joyce Siders

The Investigation of the missing five-year-old Haleigh Cummings, who was reportedly last seen February 9th, is becoming bizarre with alleged sightings of a "man in black" and with contradictory statements from the missing toddler’s father's girlfriend, Misty Croslin.Suspicion has surrounded Croslin since the abduction. It wasn’t just the seemingly forced tears or crying, but that she has changed her story several times. Nancy Grace, attorney and news host, attributes this to the age factor (she’s seventeen) which could be the case, or she could be a liar.

The following are two instances of Croslin’s erratic behavior: she gave a description of the shirt Haleigh had last worn which contradicts new reports which state it was found in the dirty clothes; and, in one of the initial interviews, both Haleigh and her four-year-old brother were sleeping in the same bed as the teenager. Now, she says Haleigh was in her own bed.A claim has been made that Croslin was not with the children that night, at all. If so, that is a criminal offense in and of itself for hindering an ongoing investigation, but it could answer the above questions. It could mean that she’s covering herself for something; something she needs to come clean about. The police, who must have had these same suspicions, have poly-graphed Croslin twice. According to a February 23rd report by Grace, the four-year-old brother has told authorities that a "man in black" had taken his sister. One psychologist believes that the kidnapping was premeditated and that it is “highly likely that Haleigh could be in the hands of a pedophile” according to Grace. There are over forty registered sex offenders located near the Cummings’ home according to the host and that sounds a lot like the Jessica Lunsford murder.

Four years ago, nine-year-old Lunsford was abducted from her bedroom. She was raped and then buried alive and her body was found days later on March 15, 2005 at a neighbor’s home.Because Cummings’ brother is four, it is possible that the “man in black” could be a figment of his imagination. The census bureau will not survey children under the age of 12 because kids that young misinterpret time, dreams and fantasies. So does his claim have any significance at all? I do not believe so.Question after question, the whole picture of the girl’s disappearance doesn’t make sense. Why wasn’t Croslin able to distinguish what Cummings was wearing? Where was Cummings sleeping? Was there an assailant in black? And most importantly, where is Cummings? It is not possible that she left on her own because most children are scared of the dark. This blogger hopes that the above questions will be answered; if that happens, perhaps Cummings would be found much quicker.
